Mess Makes Meaning Podcast

Last month I was a guest on the Godly Play Foundation podcast and I recently had the pleasure of continuing the conversation on Mess Makes Meaning, which has similar content, but is especially directed toward parents and other caregivers.

In the earlier episode, I spoke mostly about creating space for wonder and having the courage to “let go of the narrative” so that children can discover things for themselves.

This month, Joy, Raenelle and I talked about Christian holidays and how parents sometimes struggle to know how to handle the intersection of sacred story and secular culture.

In my experience, the journey through the circle of the Christian year is enhanced by its connection to the seasons and cycles of the natural world, so that is what I emphasize in this interview.
