Just in time for Lent, Make Room: A Child’s Guide to Lent and Easter has a brand new Activity Guide!
The guide follows the four sections of the book: Making Time, Making Space, Making Room, Holy Week. For each section it includes conversation-starters, hands-on activities, simple practices connected to the theme, and suggestions for other books to read aloud.
For example, there are instructions for making and using an examen jar (pictured above). Curious? Check it out in the guide. Another easy activity is making paper chain to count the forty days (plus six Sundays). You can write blessings or Lenten words on the papers before making the chain, or leave it plain and remove a link each day.
The fruits of this season are many: simplicity, attentiveness, hospitality, compassion, and openness of mind and heart. I hope this Activity Guide helps you use Make Room to cultivate these qualities in the children you love.
